I am a devoted mother and wife, a dedicated physician and a fitness enthusiast based in the vibrant heart of Dallas, Texas. A profound belief in giving back and a burning passion for healthcare equity and improving quality of life got me involved in K-PALS. I am honored and grateful to be a part of this amazing team which strives for a healthier , equitable, and empowered world together by improving children healthcare in Nepal.
Dr. Bhurtel is Assistant professor in pediatric cardiology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Children’s Hospital of Richmond. He has devoted his career to providing the utmost level and quality of evidence-based clinical care to children with heart defects.
In addition to his primary job, he has a deep passion for educating and training the next generation of physicians and health care workers. His love and passion for children’s health care has led him to be actively involved and committed to the K-Pals campaign and the clinical council since its inception.
He currently serves on the K-PALS board of directors.
Dr. Bhurtel lives by the mission and motto “Giving makes all of us happy and when the giving is for children’s healthcare in Nepal, the happiness is even more. All children should receive the best healthcare service irrespective of where they are born”
I am a Pediatrician, husband & father. I am a faculty neonatologist at the University of Texas, Houston, where I focus on teaching evidence-based clinical practice. I feel privileged to serve as a board member of KPALS, an organization dedicated to supporting the Children’s Hospital Network in Nepal.
I believe every child should have access to high-quality healthcare for physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing. My passion is to help create a safe system to offer evidence-based, family-centered networks of hospitals to provide complex medical care where patient and family values are at the core of care.
I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, and cooking in my free time.
